FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VANCOUVER, BC – AcmeLabs is planning to amalgamate all Lower Mainland operations into its new head office in South Vancouver. This new global headquarters will open early in 2012 and comprise over 130,000 square feet of laboratory, warehouse and underground parking facilities. AcmeLabs is one of the world’s leading geochemical and assay testing services with offices in North and South America as well as Turkey.
“The new flagship lab is over twice the size of our current combined facilities,” explains President George Cartwright. “It will operate using the highest environmental and safety standards to ensure it is a superb workplace for our employees. We’re very pleased to say this will be one of the best equipped mineral testing facilities anywhere and possibly the largest multi-element geochemistry lab in the world.”
The current resurgence in the exploration and mining sector has increased demand for quality analysis and labs are growing in order to keep pace with global demand. “We planned this expansion quite some time ago in order to maintain our position as an industry leader and to ensure our high standards of service to customers around the world well into the future,” states Cartwright. ‘We’re very proud to be able to offer this level of excellence right here in Vancouver.”
Beginning in 1971 as a family operated private business, AcmeLabs has grown to become recognized as one of the world’s leading geochemical and assaying laboratories. The company is employee-owned, and operates 26 offices in 11 countries, with a substantial new laboratory in Ankara, Turkey, which commences operations on April 15, 2011 as well as a large regional laboratory in Santiago, Chile serving South America. This expansion and upgrading is part of AcmeLabs’ ongoing commitment to continuous innovation and unparalleled global customer service.

AcmeLabsTM is pleased to announce the opening of its new on-site sample preparation laboratories in the province of Santa Cruz, Southern Argentina. The first laboratory is located at the Cerro Moro Project of Extorre Gold Mines Ltd. The second laboratory is located at the Cerro Negro Project of OroPlata (Goldcorp).
Argentina is a huge country with most of the minerals laboratories located in Mendoza, about 3000km from Santa Cruz province. Sample shipment is a logistical challenge. Extorre Gold Mines Ltd. and OroPlata S.A. have been strategic partners with AcmeLabsTM Argentina for more than 3 years. These on-site facilities will help our clients get their samples to the analytical lab in less time and will also save money on freight.

In 2010 our team in Chile began working with the Domingo Savio Foundation. Domingo Savio is dedicated to providing life skills to children and youth at risk in the South of Santiago. This is a nonprofit organization that receives no help from the government.
- As part of the annual National Holiday celebrations, in 2010 our employees competed to build a food donation for Domingo Savio youth. Between our employees we amassed over half a ton of foodstuffs.
- At Christmas time several members of staff donated presents to the children of Domingo Savio. For many of them, this was their only present, so the gesture was very welcome!
- In 2011 our company is helping with a Project to expand the building by way of a second floor. Domingo Savio has a waiting list of people from the area, and with extra space they will be able to help more people in need. We will be working with AcmeLabs stakeholders and suppliers to help Domingo Savio reach their goal of a second floor. A charity in North America has offered to match dollar for dollar all moneys raised.
