Acme Opening in Whitehorse

January 19th, 2010

Acme Labs is pleased to announce the opening of our new sample preparation facility in Whitehorse to serve the growing exploration market in the Yukon. The prep lab will be operational beginning February 1, 2010. This will help us ensure we can meet our Yukon customers expectations both for speed and data quality by using the latest equipment and dust control system in the industry.

In the last few years sample preparation has become forefront in the laboratory industry. Acme believes that the analytical result is only as good as the sample, so proper preparation is critical. Acme Labs constantly monitors all prep procedures through daily QC tests for granularity, materials contamination, bowl deterioration, etc.

Acme Labs uses state of the art engineering to construct the best possible sample preparation dust control system in the industry. Acme Labs has been designing and improving upon dust control systems for three decades and the AcmeDCU is the result of this long history of improvement. The AcmeDCU provides a unique design that accomplishes the following;

  1. Enhances the safety of the worker by greatly reducing exposure to dust and noise.
  2. Provides good ergonomics for the worker to reduce injuries and improve productivity.
  3. Ensures excellent dust control to minimize cross contamination and dust exposure between samples.
  4. Minimizes impact on the environment by consuming less energy and requiring less maintenance.
  5. Minimizes the lost of the fine fraction during the crusher process.

We are constantly researching and testing the newest ideas and materials to minimize contamination and at the same time reducing sample loss through the sample preparation process. Through this research process we have developed the best dust control unit in the industry and will keep improving our DCU as new technology becomes available.
